Outdoor Birthday Celebration

This past weekend I hosted a Triple Birthday Party for my husband and two of my girlfriends in our backyard at our home. Nathan, Kit & Jenny have birthdays spanning from September to November...I thought how much fun it would be to throw a party for all three of them.

October, being my favorite month of the year, was the choice of date for this get-together! And, oh, how good Miss October was to us! The weather could not have been any better! Since the outdoor event didn't start until 8 o'clock in the evening, I was a bit worried about it being too chilly. I literally checked weather.com a million and a half times the week leading to the party, as lows had been around 45 degrees that week. We were blessed with evening temperatures in the 70's! Thank you, Mother Nature!

When deciding what the color palate could be for the party, I asked each of the honorees what their favorite color was and to my surprise all three answered, 'RED'. Well, that made things easy. I also added Chocolate Brown and Tiffany Blue into the mix.

Now that I had the color scheme together, it was time to start planning and designing a Swanky Shindig for the 3 Favorite Peeps of Mine...

Jenny, Nathan & Kit

When I started thinking about what would make this event special for the 3 Birthday Peeps....I thought 'what do they love'? Well, my husband is a cigar aficionado, so what would be neater than a Cigar Bar for him and his buddies to enjoy!

I wanted the aspects of the party to be a complete surprise for the the birthday boy & girls, so I had to pick out the cigars all by myself. I found it wasn't as intimidating as I thought it was going to be. I selected five different brands/flavors based on strength. Thompson Cigar made it somewhat easy for me to choose...I just went to the section 90+ Rated Cigars....how could you go wrong?
I chose 90+ Rated Cigars in three different stregths...Mild, Medium & Full.
I thought it was funny that my husbands first question was, "Who helped you pick these out?" Oh babe, don't underestimate a Party Girl! Mission successfully accomplished! : )

I wanted something very special for the birthday girls! I decided on a Scent Bar. I absolutely adore perfume and thought the ladies would love creating their very own Signature Scent! We had a mix of 20 different Essential Oils to mix our own beautiful concoction. It was truly fun!

The Tiffany Blue large glass perfume bottles were filled with Coffee Beans to sniff in between smelling the different oils to cleanse the palate clear of any of the scents.

Social Circles signature 'TableTop Drops' were custom designed for this event on Chocolate Burlap for each table using the party emblem. I used white for the Cigar Bar, Tiffany Blue for the Scent Bar and Red for the Eats Bar. These Table Top Drops are available for sale...contact us for a custom design for your next event.

Since the event was being held a little later in the evening, I decided to go with more of a dessert theme...Cakes, Cookies, Bourbon Balls, Baked Brie and Assorted Cheese and Fruit Platter...yummo!

Menu

We served three different cakes....the favorites of the birthday honorees.
Nathan Cake ~ Spice Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting
Kit Cake ~ Vanilla Cake with Vanilla Buttercream Frosting
Jenny Cake ~ Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Buttercream Frosting

The darling cookies were from no other than the fabulous, Lisa, from The Cookie Jar! I told her the details of my party, including color palate, Cigar & Scent Bar, and the initials of the Birthday Honorees. I asked her for Cigar and Perfume Bottle cookies and one with their initials... and once again, she delivered perfect cookies! She is amazing at cookie design and her cookies are as good as they look!
