Doggie Pawty!!

This past summer I threw my son, Chase, a 'Doggie Pawty' for his 3rd birthday! He LOVES dogs, so he was all about it!
I hosted the party at my mom's house, as at the time I was living a few hours away and wanted all my friends to bring their kiddos over for the celebration! It was a blast! Here are the details....

Colors: Chocolate Brown, Tan & Red

Activities: I set up an "Adoption Center" with loads of doggies I bought at Toys-R-Us. They have the best stuffed dogs with tons of different breeds to choose from...anything from an Australian Shepard to an English Bulldog and everything in between! I put them in a little 'gated' area, where they waited to be adopted! The kiddos were then able to pick their puppy when their number was called...I had made little laminated paper bones with numbers and they each drew one and patiently waited to be called up to claim their pup! Each child adopted their new pet and then took them to get their 'official' adoption papers, name their pet and pick up a new collar and personalized tag!

Next stop was the Vet! Doggies were taken in for a check-up and vaccinations...OUCH! However, the super-cool band-aids helped ease the pain!

After the visit to the Vet, it was time to hit the Groomers for a little pampering! Doogies were bathed, brushed and given either beautiful bows for their hair or a red bandana to wear around their necks! I believe some dogs were sporting both!

Games:
Tennis Ball Throw
Rawhide Ring Toss

Food:
Hot-Dawg Bar, of course!!
Hot-Dawgs were served right off the grill with lots of toppings to choose of their liking!
Chips & Dips
Fruit Kabobs

Cake
Chocolate 2 Tiered with Bones & Bandanas from one of my favorite bakeries in my hometown, Icing On The Top.

Favors
Bags filled with Bone shaped cookies!

We asked guests in lieu of a gift for Chase, to get items such as dog food, toys, bone, etc to be donated to the local SPCA.

The pawty was so much fun! The kids were so happy to take their new doggies and the doggies at the SPCA were so grateful for their new goodies!

40th Birthday Bash

A few weeks ago I traveled to my hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma to spend a couple of weeks and host a few events. One being my sister's 40th Birthday Bash! If anyone ever deserved to have a beautiful party thrown for them, it's her. She is a very selfless, funny, beautiful, single mom of 3!

Colors: black, green & white. I had a floral fabric that i wanted to use and that really inspired all the decor, including the beautiful cake that came from my favorite Tulsa cake place, Icing On The Top.

Signature Cocktail: Champagne with a sugar cube and splash of Bitters

Menu:
Marinated Flank Steak on Mini Buns served with Horseradish au jus dipping sauce
Tomato, Mozzarella, Calamata Olive & Basil skewers drizzled with olive oil & balsamic vingar & spices
Chip Beef Dip served with pita chips
Artichoke & Sundried Tomato dip
Baked Brie in a Puff Pastry with dried cherries
Chocolate covered Strawberries

It was a great night!!

Happy 40th Birthday, Christi!

PINK Party Pics

These are a few pics of the PINK party that my friend, Heather, and I hosted in honor of our best friend, Jennifer. Jennifer was coming into town and we gathered our best friends from high school and had an intimate dinner party to celebrate Jennifer being cancer free!! We drank LOTS of champagne in celebration and devoured a very yummy salad nicoise followed with strawberry cupcakes complete with a fondant pink ribbon. The night was truly amazing and will definitely not be forgotten soon!

Cheers to one of the best nights I've had in a long time with very special friends and for a wonderful purpose!

PINK Party

Last year, my friends and I received devastating news that one of our own was diagnosed with breast cancer at the early age of 32. It was news that saddened and scared me to my core. How can this ugly disease invade my beautiful friend?

Luckily, Jennifer caught it early. She found a pea sized lump while doing a self breast exam and immediately made an appointment with her doctor. Breast cancer runs in her family, as two of her aunts have had it. The good news was that 1)it was detected early and was very treatable, 2)she did not have to have a mastectomy or chemo and the BIG 3)she was going to survive!
Jennifer endured painful radiation treatments and is continuing to take medication, BUT she is CANCER FREE! And it is a BEAUTIFUL thing!

Tonight, 5 of her best friends are gathering for a surprise PINK dinner party to celebrate her life and her health!

I can't wait to see the surprise on her face when she sees her best friend has flown in to town to be with her on this special night!

Can't wait to show you pics of the party!!
